SIMPLICITY

If dreams are for children
and reality the goal of the wise...
Why do I remember
complete truth and beauty
in the warmth of the sun
as it shone
on the very top of my head
as I sat in a puddle left by rain?

There was the taste of Spring clover
shared with a curious puppy...
Boundless energy
to explore the horizons
and touch the rainbows--

And my father
singing nonsense songs
out of tune...
to me.

ANYBODY FOR DESSERT?

Smooth as a stone--
polished...
like the silky-tongued beguiler
exiting my life
Feelings should have no ripples
Hot rolling chocolate fudge
descends an icy peaked mountain
slow and delicious...
Leaving an ambrosia aftertaste
to savor at will.

DRENCHED

In the shower
I fantasize
about my two lovers--
One at a time... please
Your hands are there
with feathery finger touches
Everywhere at once
There is no anywhere else
There is no outside
No people waiting for busses--
looking at watches... pacing
You are inside with me
Time has no limits now
and I am so squeaky clean
Wet hair clings to faces...
Yours or mine?

It doesn't matter
and nothing matters
when you are inside
with me...
