THE BEAST IN THE DARKNESS

Darkness slips into my room,
Shadows creep upon the wall.
I know that he is coming soon,
No matter how I try to stall.
The night drifts in, and soon begins to show,
He is hungry for me, this I truly know.
Sleep tries to wrap it's arms around me,
My mind fights to keep control.
I feel the fear start to grip my heart,
I feel his breath upon my soul....

As the veil of dreams surround me,
I hear the familiar sound...
Of gruesome footsteps I cannot see.
Once again I fight the fight,
Trying to beat the beast.
Hoping for the morning light,
To save me from his feast.

All through the night I tried to hide,
His hunger washed over me
like the waves in the tide.
The first rays of morning
were surely heaven sent,
One more night I rode the ride
and knew not where I went.

A TIME FOR GOOD-BYES

Looking at your soft skin...smelling your sweet hair,
Wanting to reach out and touch you, wondering if I dare.
Thinking of times past, when our love was true...
Hoping for a future, one filled with only you.
Seeing it was time to go, time to say good-bye....
Knowing when to walk away, trying not to cry.
As they lower your casket, deep into the hollow ground....
I feel my heart begin to ache, my love for you unbound.
Whispering "I love you," hoping that you hear...
Please know this is not good-bye, I will always hold you dear.

Stones of time ever thrown within...
Stones of time ever thrown again.

Waves rush in and waves rush out...
Waves rush in and waves rush about.

Like sands of time passing by...
Like sands of time passing to die.

Ripples in and on the shore...
Ripples in and on forevermore...
