In a rolling rippled range

Isn’t it sad to see the change?

They used to be so tall, but now

they’re small.

You can barely see them at all.

THE GOD AND THE DEVIL

The nightsky was black,
the stars were red.
I was in bed,
I shut my eyes,
I fell asleep.

I dreamed that God
was fighting the devil.
God was killed
and fell in the water.
The water was red with his blood.

THE TRACTOR

Summer’s hot sun
shines on me.
Summer makes flowers grow.
Summer makes me happy.

Mom is in the garden.
Dad is mowing the lawn.
The dogs and cats are playing.
I see butterflies.

I am three.
I see Dad on the tractor.
I beg him for a ride.
It makes a chugging noise.

It felt good to ride the tractor.
I see a bee.
We run over the flowers,
the bee chased us.

The pond is full of frogs.
There is a tree that has a nest.
The pond has a family of ducks,
we see them swimming.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Colorful streamers all squiggly
hang from the ceiling.
They come down towards the floor.
It is my birthday,
I am happy.

There were presents.
I got one set of make-up,
two purple flowers,
and a jump-rope.
I am happy.

Outside playing
jump rope
with my cousin,
he jumped eleven times,
I jumped eight.

Eating cake,
chocolate.
It tastes good.
It had M &M’s
inside.

PLAYING TAG

Krystyna and I were playing.
I was running on the green grass,
we were playing tag.

A sunny day,
it was hot.
We had fun.

I tag Krystyna,
she tags me, too.
We fall and the soft grass tickles us.

It was fun playing.
I love my sister,
she is nice.

AN EARLY HUMILIATION

Once there was a chair,

and I didn’t know it was there.

I tried to sit,

but I fell on the floor.

I laughed and laughed

and laughed some more!
