Halloween is a time

for wild fun and beauty and free burritos! I didn't eat a whole one, of course, because it would have smudged my impeccable lipstick, but I had a bite of Bennett's and it was delicious with lots of cilantro.

I'm not going to bore you with a detailed account of my evening, but I do want to make a public service announcement: NEVER GO TO A PARTY PUT ON MY DIRTY, DIY, MONEY-GRUBBING, BIKE-RIDING HIPPIES or you will regret it. My friends and I made the mistake of going and paying $7 to hang out in a big room with video projections and no music and $4 beer. In the other room they were selling t-shirts. After about half an hour the cops kicked everyone out because the organizers had "misplaced their permit." Apparently this travesty of an event was put on by an outfit called "Time's Up." Feel free to send them hate mail.

After that supreme disappointment in Queens, I ended up at a much more fun party in Brooklyn where I encountered such figures as Jerry Blank, Frances Farmer, Elliott Smith (post mortem), and a citizen of colonial Williamsburg. See pictures of the entire evening here.

On a side note, Bennett is officially fired from writing Survivor posts since he cannot be relied upon. These are my reflections from last week's episode (thanks to Gail for a fun-filled Survivor-watching evening complete with burritos and friendship). Rupert is getting a little big for his britches, thinking he alone gets to decide who gets voted off. That may be true for now, but I think he needs to put it all in perspective. Fish is important for only so long in this game. The exciting thing about last week's episode was that all the people that had been kicked off came back as a new tribe of "Outcasts" that competed against and ultimately defeated both other tribes in a special challenge. What this means: two of the old people are coming back next week. My prediction: Lill and Trish, even though I wish Nicole would come back, because it's always good to have a girl wearing a tubetop on the island.
