Several reasons to leave the city

I can use a little clarity once in a while. Seeing trees that weren't planted by a city planner, listening to birds outside my window instead of fratboys and their slut girlfriends, driving my car, seeing my parents and old friends, petting very cute cats, singing Sacred Harp with hardcore Massachussetts singers, and eating at a real sit-down Pizza Hut were all among the reasons I wanted to go home for a little while.

My visit gave me a chance to sort some things out, not worry about what I was going to do next because there was so little to do, and to finally get some sleep. It also reminded me that it's nice to move at a slower pace. It's no fun to be harried, and the city does that to me over time, as I take on more and more commitments and appointments for fun. Yesterday someone special called my behavior compulsive and I had to agree. It's time to relax and enjoy the chickens, and the chicken wings, and their greasy bones piled high in a red plastic basket.

To make up for my posting deliquency the last couple weeks, I'm now giving you full wacky documentation of my week in the woods. Brunch and dinner at Justin and Sarah's, and Pizza Hut with Nicole. Enjoy.

Mmmm, but I am also comforted by the noir ambiance, and that cozy, sick feeling I get after eating way too much factory cheese.

you forgot to mention that the best thing about Pizza Hut (adside from filthy red plastic trays piled high with chicken bones) is the AMBIANCE! Note that Dictionary.com gives the definition of ambiance as "The special atmosphere or mood created by a particular environment: “The noir ambience is dominated by low-key lighting... and deep shadows, creating feelings of disorientation, loneliness and entrapment”". This applies all too well to Pizza Hut...
