Your name in print! Be somebody!
The First Amendment Project is holding an eBay auction starting Sept. 1 where bidders can purchase the opportunity to be immortalized in an upcoming book by one of sixteen famous authors, including Michael Chabon, John Grisham, Rick Moody, Nora Roberts, Dave Eggers, ZZ Packer, Stephen King, and Amy Tan.
Peter Straub says yours will be "The name of a minor character who will appear in my next full-length work of fiction, which will probably be published in 2007. Bidders are asked to submit their own names only, preferably without middle name or initial, and should be advised that the fictional person who winds up bearing his or her name may be of dubious moral character." Just think: Your name could be attached forever to the corpse of a crack addict lying in the gutter! (via Modern Fabulosity)
Make your bids here.
