For once, it begins in the South

South Africa's highest court ruled today (with an overwhelming 9-1 majority) that the country's current marriage laws are unconstitutional for their exclusion of same-sex couples. It is now up the South African parliament to amend the marriage act, and they have one year to do so. Hopefully this new development won't spark further repression in South Africa's notoriously antigay neighboring countries.
