Geisha humor

It's hard being a female artist/performer who is not a hooker in Japan these days. According to Wikipedia , there are fewer than 1000 geisha in Japan today, when in the 1920s there were more than 80,000. And now those remaining are the subjects of dog food commercials . Although the commercial is a joke, I can't help but think that a modern-day geisha would rather entertain a cute, well-behaved beagle than a raunchy American [PARTIAL POST: VISIT THE SITE TO READ THE REST AND SEE PICTURES]

Of course I don't really know, since I have not read the illuminating book Memoirs of a Geisha or seen the movie. I do, however, enjoy this special director's cut preview. I watch it over and over again!
